I am very sorry for the lack of posts. I finally landed a job with a government department working on our fisheries. I was in Nelson in New Zealand and so you can see the pics above and below. I had to go away for a number of weeks and train and I had no internet access. What this means also is that I will be going away on boats for weeks at a time and so will also be unable to write posts but I will definitely let everyone know the next time that it happens.

So how did I cope with going away in terms of Paleo. Well pretty much non existent. We were given food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the unfortunate thing was that there was always carbs involved. So it was either eat or die. So I have been carbing out and have gained about 5kg. Boo!!!! So Im not quite sure how I am going to deal with going out on boats as it will be the same scenario. I am going to have to think very seriously about this and come up with a working strategy. It might just have to be that I eat the most unprocessed foods that I can even if it involves carbs. The good news is that I will be eating lots of fish which will be high in Omega 3 and vitamin D.

However, since I have come back it is looking increasingly likely that I will be getting a postdoc science job in the USA in Minnesota. If this happens then obviously I won’t be going away for weeks at a time but I will have to deal with searching for and buying grass fed beef. Arrggghhh. So I will be posting more regularly and will keep people updated as I go along. I will be getting around to answering peoples emails shortly so if you havn’t heard anything from me it will happen.
