You can find a study that suit any opinion and I can say you found one that suit yours. But let me tell you about my own experience, I am vegetarian and haven't get flu in more than 7 years . I am 59 now and I run, lift weight etc.. . I appreciate your opinion but I think you are wrong. I would like to recommend to you a book called the " The china study". Any way wherever your opinion I wish you good luck with your diet.

Cordain simply doesn't know what he is talking about. He is an exercise scientist not a food scientist. He simply regurgitates other scientists work but shows no real understanding.

Studies on modern hunter-gatherers tell us almost nothing about what our ancestors ate. All modern HGs, outside the Arctic, live in marginal areas with very restricted food supplies and no large game. They eat what is available not what is the most nutritious. Our ancestors on the savannah 200,000 years ago had ample access to shellfish and fat-rich large game. They would have simply eaten the fat and discarded most of the lean meat because food was so readily available.

Cordain's comments on aborigines is absolutely wrong. Before European settlement most aborigines lived on the coast or on large rivers. They consumed large amounts of fish and shellfish and fatty marine mammals such as dugongs.

soy has a whole slew of health problems in and of itself. Anti nutrients anyone? Enough with the "your meat had a face" crap. Do you know how many micro climates and habitats are destroyed so that SOYBEANS can be planted, and grains harvested? countless rodents and rabbits die as well as deforestation (so the animals associated with them) to make for grain/corn plantation. So what, moo-moo the cow's life is worth more than bugs bunny? You choose convenience of indirect "murder" whereas meat eaters know what they are getting into. Death is death, its a part of life, you just conveniently assume that its ok to kill something with an endosperm. Get off your soapboxes.

is anyone looking at the proposed benefits of an alkaline diet which would be in direct contrast to the high protein intake of the paleo diet.In addition doesn't the intake of large amounts of protein significantly raise uric acid levels.

This looks fantastic, and challenges the notion that daily egg-based breakfast has to be boring. The avocado and salsa must provide good fuel for the day. Can't wait to try it!
